Last night I watched this video by Eric Thomas, the YouTube phenomenon "Hip Hop Preacher". Although he's loud and shouty, and has based clearly his style on the super successful Tony Robbins, I like the message of believing in yourself, and that anyone can work and achieve the life of their dreams.
He was homeless and changed his whole life in about 18 months I think. Very inspiring. He now coaches NBA athletes and young people and travels the world.
Some of what he "preaches" goes against my understanding and belief in the Art of Allowing, which dictates that everything we desire already exists, and our job is to soothe ourselves into alignment with our dreams and desires. It doesn't mean that we don't do anything. This just means we aren't forcing anything. We are flowing and following our passion and purpose. Which is ultimately the same message as this video. Just gentler. I prefer gentle.
Watching this video about the 21 day challenge made me examine just how much I'm putting into my business, relationships and things. So I have committed to several addressing three key areas:
- 120% into my business start up
- 120% into addressing my financial experience and decisions
- 120% into personal and professional relationships
At first glance this seems like a lot of me is going to be expended. But I am currently working with the harvest energy of August, and feel super charged to get things shifted. I've recently had a huge change in my finances which means I have no choice but do something about it, and who wouldn't want to improve their personal and professional relationships? After all, it's our relationships with ourself and others that makes our life awesome.
When I include myself as one of the people with whom I will be giving 120%, that ensures I take real time out on my Moondays to nurture and pamper myself. Even if that means I sleep for the whole day (which may well do today) or do fun stuff with other people.
At the moment I think I operate at about 75% effort. Which I feel is good, but there are things I put off because I don't enjoy doing them. Or I get lazy with my thinking and am negative about myself or others. Therefore the 120% includes being on it holistically. It's the only way this will work.
Thoughts
Words
Actions
Have to match for integrity.
So I'm excited that today is the first day of my 21 day challenge to put 120% effort into these areas of my life.
I'll blog about some aspects of the journey. Some of it I'll be keeping to myself. But will do a conclusion post at the end to share what I did. How I did it, and the miracles that manifested when I did my best to put 120% of love, effort and attention into my life.
Tbh I don't even know what 120% effort looks like, but I'm sure by the end of it I'll get there.
Why not do it with me?
It might be fun.
Watch Eric's video and see how you feel.
So I'll be putting away my debit card (I thankfully don't have any credit cards), making time for developing my relationships and going full on with my business plans. Watch this space. I'm excited!!! Whoop whoop.
