Yesterday I ran a workshop at the Birmingham launch the Bryony Kimmings Ltd Boys Project
It was amazing. The energy and participation of all the young men, who joined us from Manchester, Cardiff, Leeds, London and of course Birmingham, was mind blowing
A group of young men who have signed up in the hope of being chosen to be the projects Peace Army of 20 artistic creative political activists
My introduced me to the project after being chosen as one of 60 young men aged 18-25 who will eventually be whittled down to the final 20
The project manager David sent me a link to a video about celebrity and fame that i've not seen before, which we included in my section of the day. It's full of powerful messages from celebrities who thought being famous would mean happiness, and how wrong they were, check it out here
We had a wonderful discussion with the young men afterwards about what emotions the video had brought up in them. It got deep
Those of you who know me know I don't do small talk, and that applies to my workshop sessions too
We go deep fast. I give people the benefit of the doubt, that if we have aligned at this moment in time they are ready for what I have to offer, and I don't offer surface ish I go deep or go home
Considering that before a couple of days ago I had never watched the video, I checked my instagram this morning and one of my current favourite poets #NayirrahWaheed had posted the photo, which just happens to be the exact quote from #Tupac that is in the video
I don't believe in coincidences. This is called alignment
Have a beautiful life
with love xoxox
